Those hot hair and makeup trends you spotted on the streets this year, more than likely appeared on a red carpet first. From the disappearance of basic black eyeliner to how one of our favorite fashionistas got it right each time, these are our best carpet arrivals of 2015!

Blue Eyeliner

Have we said goodbye to basic black liner for good? According to the red carpet, runway, and fashion mag cover appearances made by electric and cobalt shades, we may never see standard eyeliner again. But who’s complaining? Certainly not supermodel Jordan Dunn, actress Olivia Wilde, or the trendsetter herself Taylor Swift. These ladies made 2015 the year of blue!

Gwen’s Everything

Though we spent a good part of the year speculating about the singer’s hook-up with fellow The Voice host Blake Shelton, her spirited, super edgy style remained front and center. A few of our favorites: her signature red lip (obviously), her platinum blonde top knot, and her clearly Marilyn Monroe-inspired curly moments.

Mystery Lips

“Who was that rocking the burgundy lips last night?” “Did you see what’s her name’s dark blue lipstick?” When we asked these questions during the 2015 award shows, interviews, and red carpet coverage, we seriously could have talking about anyone. From Jennifer Lopez to Kylie Jenner to GiGi Hadid, solving the case of the mystery lips was a challenge!

Wavy Manes

Laid-back beach-inspired waves made their way from vacation to the red carpet and we were feeling all of it! Though some styles were long and intense – Chrissy Teigen has a knack for taking things, gorgeously, all the way, Ciara showed us what short, cropped waves do for a bob! Get set for an encore as something tells us that we’re in for one wavy 2016!

Brazen Brows

Are you even surprised that the drama of big brows made its way to this list? Is there an event or destination that doesn’t call for scene-stealing brows? The answer to that question would a resounding “no way!” according to the ways Cara Delevingne, Kate Upton, and Lily Aldridge spent the year red carpets down left and right!
